Update on your Med Gas Certification

By now you should have received information, your certificate and/or card from NITC. If you have any questions on your packet you can call the Minneapolis Plumbers JAC at 612-374-5262. For members that are not brazing at work or not working, open brazing is available on the first Thursday of each month at the Union Hall from 3:30 – 6:00 pm prior to the monthly union meeting. This is the only time available as an authorized representative has to sign off on your Record of Continuity Brazer Qualification Form. Keep an accurate record of braze activity and mark your calendar for the first Thursday prior to the expiration on your Med Gas Card or just to make note of when you must braze at work to stay up to date. The Record of Continuity Brazer Qualification form can be obtained from the NITC website at www.nationalitc.com or call the Apprenticeship Office at 612-374-5262.

**Please note: Not only do you have to braze a qualified joint but it must also be submitted to NITC prior to the expiration date on your card.**

I.R.S. Standard Mileage Rate for 2011- has been increased to .51 cents per mile

This is the new mileage rate beginning January 1st 2011 for miles traveled in your personal vehicle, from shop to job, job to job, and travel outside the 40 mile arc at the request of your employer as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
